    Modern day society has become obsessed with "perfect" bodies. If you're not super-skinny, buff, ripped (insert the "in" description of the day) - then you are deemed unacceptable or "not good enough". We have starved, purged, belittled and punished ourselves with the hope that we can finally force our bodies to become perfect.

    One of the things that many people look forward to while losing weight is buying new clothes in smaller sizes that they feel good wearing. In fact, just the thought of doing that probably makes you feel happy and excited right now! As often as possible, you want to stimulate those feelings of happiness and excitement because they do wonders in boosting your vibration.

    So many of us eat because we are trying to muffle unpleasant beliefs about ourselves. Sometimes these beliefs were instilled in us from our parents and other role models; beliefs like we're not good enough, nothing we do is good enough, and we have to be perfect in order to be loved. Sometimes we create our own limiting beliefs, like we are unattractive or stupid or "losers" - and we eat to smother that inner critical voice in our heads. One of the most powerful things you can do to jumpstart your weight loss is to start fostering the belief that you are loved.

    Conscious eating is an important part of weight loss because it helps you to enjoy your food more completely, feel satisfied, and eat less than you would otherwise. When you eat while watching television, browsing the internet, driving or reading, you are not fully present with the act of eating. Therefore it's all too easy to consume much more food that you normally would, AND since you weren't "there" for most of the eating, you don't feel satisfied so you keep feeling like you need to eat even more.

    You've probably heard it said that the body is a temple for the spirit, but how often do you act in ways that truly honor and respect your body? Forget all the religious connotations and think about a temple as a "holy place" - or a place of sacred connection. Would you ever enter a holy place and throw garbage around? Would you verbally abuse the residents living there? Would you paint obscene graffiti on the walls?
